Job Title: Production Technician I

Position Summary:
The Production Technician I plays a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of instrumentation products by performing tasks such as unpacking, labeling, testing, calibrating, and repackaging as outlined by the production schedule. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate records, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and supporting engineering changes and new product validation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instrumentation Handling:

    • Inspect, test, label, and package instrumentation products according to established standards.
    • Ensure production products contain proper components and quantities.
  • Quality Assurance:

    • Maintain accurate records of tested instruments.
    • Perform QA/QC checks as specified in production SOPs.
    • Identify and report equipment malfunctions to management, including pulling software logs and tracking hardware failures.
  • Product Validation:

    • Validate procedures for new products and implement engineering changes for forward-production initiatives.
  • Compliance and Safety:

    • Maintain production areas in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and standard operating procedures.
    • Ensure a safe and clean work environment by disposing of hazardous waste appropriately.
    • Conduct cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing in compliance with cGMP standards.
  • Waste Management:

    • Remove waste generated by the production area, including recycled corrugated materials and miscellaneous trash, and dispose of each appropriately.
  • Equipment Operation:

    • Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
  • Administrative Duties:

    • Accurately log bi-weekly timecards for payroll, including overtime, holidays, sick leave, and personal time.
  • Training and Support:

    • Assist in training new personnel and temporary staff in departmental procedures.
    • Collaborate with team members to foster a productive and supportive work environment.
  • Other Duties:

    • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:

    • Two-year degree in Science or Electronics Technology preferred, or equivalent work experience with 2 years of relevant experience in electronic instrumentation.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in troubleshooting errors and resolving problems encountered during production.
    • Strong ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Communication Skills:

    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proficient use of company email and other communication tools.
  • Teamwork:

    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and contribute to the development of a cohesive team environment.
